Montelukast works by blocking the effects of leukotrienes , a substances produced by the body in response to certain “ triggers “ that cause narrowing and swelling of airways in the lungs. Montelukast usually starts to works within one day. Montelukast belongs to a group of medications known as leukotriene receptors antagonists… Montelukast works by blocking the actions of leukotrienes D4 in the lungs resulting in decreased inflammation and relaxation of smooth muscle .. Montelukast available as a generic medication. Levocitrizine works by blocking a certain natural substances( histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction. Levocitrizine is a histamine H1 receptor antagonist. Levocitrizine is a third-generation , non- sedating selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist with antihistamine , anti-inflammatory and potential, anti-angiogenic activities.
