Description
FYPOD-AZ (CEFPODOXIME PROXETIL 200 MG & AZITHROMYCIN 250 MG) Tablet is a medication which combines of two antibiotics: Cefpodoxime and Azithromycin.
Cefpodoxime is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic that is active against both Gram –Negative and Gram –Positive bacteria. It prevents the synthesis of bacterial cell walls necessary for its survival in the human body.
Azithromycin interferes in the growth of bacteria by inhibiting the synthesis of essential protein molecules that carry forward the vital functions of the bacteria.
INDICATIONS
FYPOD-AZ (CEFPODOXIME PROXETIL 200 MG & AZITHROMYCIN 250 MG) Tablet is used to treat the following conditions: –
- Susceptible mild to moderate infections including acute otitis media
- Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
- Acute maxillary sinusitis
- Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis
- Acute community-acquired pneumonia
